Chihuahua puppy eye infection - Please advise.? - puppy eye infection

Hello,

I have a chihuahua 4 months, which has suddenly developed an eye infection in one eye. It just started to rot, then squint, and is now one eye blue and the clouds. I took him to the vet immediately and gave an ointment and prednisone. I was told to give them 3 days and then talk again with my vet.
Here are my questions: Is it possible that my dog back to normal? What can be better or worse. This is my first dog and I just want the best for him. All proposals will be of benefit.
